The FTC Privacy Rule and the Model Privacy Notice. The FTC has made changes regarding how dealers should comply with the Privacy Rule. The old privacy notices will no longer be a "safe harbor,” and the new rule provides a "safe harbor” only for the new versions of a privacy notice. Dealerships need to ensure existing forms are modified accordingly.
